Welcome! Joyce and I would like to welcome you to Church of the Epiphany. You will experience a warm welcome today! All event details are also listed on our web page (www.epiphanych.com) or on Facebook! We can hardly wait for you to join us.
Please call Laura in the church office to inquire about further details, tickets or with any questions about upcoming events and life at our church. She can be reached at 519‐537‐3921.
For your use anytime, we have a great Sunday School program (J.C. Club) and a beautiful nursery just down the hall. Further details can be found later in this
booklet. Thank you for sharing your Sunday morning with us. We are confident that you will be blessed by the worship experience today. If you have time afterwards, please introduce yourself to Joyce or myself during Coffee Hour in the Parish Hall.
The Memory Garden came about in 2002 in an effort to acknowledge
parishioners whose bequests were not designated for a specific function,
and were used for such things as capital projects or ongoing maintenance.
Often these contributions were not acknowledged in a tangible or visible
manner
As well, on occasions , parishioners have expressed the desire to
have a tree or bush planted in memory of a loved one. To incorporate these
ideas, and to avoid the random plantings and offerings of trees and shrubs,
the Memory Garden was established. For a minimum donation of one
hundred dollars, family and friends can have names of those they wish to
remember in honour, placed on the memorial plaque in the Parish Hall.
If you would like to have a name added, contact the Church Office. The Church of the Epiphany is a focal point of downtown Woodstock, and our site has been enhanced by the addition of the Memory Garden. The garden beautifies the front of the property and provides a welcoming entrance. The exterior beauty and care of the garden reflects the interior concern for what is happening in our building and faith community. In 2004, the Memory Garden received a City Beautiful Award in the Institutional category, as well as being nominated for years.
The designation was in conjunction with the International Communities in Bloom Competition, in which Woodstock was the national winner in 2003. Maintenance is provided by a dedicated group of parishioners who individually and communally weed, cultivate and prune. Anyone who would like to help in this project is always welcome!
We look forward to meeting you.
